Welcome to the University of Melbourne - Department of Rural Health (DRH) Portal. We offer a range of accommodation and student support packages in rural locations all around Victoria.


If you're planning to study in rural Victoria this year, please register and then complete an application for accommodation and/or a Going Rural Health Student Support Package.

First lock-out: Free All additional lock-outs: $80

PLEASE NOTE: Students staying in our accommodation will be allocated to their own bedrooms, however, all other facilities including bathrooms and kitchens are shared. During COVID-19, all incoming students will receive a Welcome Sanitising Pack with gloves, hand sanitiser, and sanitising wipes to mitigate the risk of transmission among students. Please consider this risk before accepting your offer. If you are not comfortable in staying in accommodation with shared facilities during COVID-19, please find alternate accommodation.

The Going Rural Health Student Support Scheme has been developed to assist students with the associated costs of accommodation and travel when completing a clinical placement in a rural setting across Hume, Ovens, Murray, Goulburn, Ballarat and Grampians regions.
